Perform all responsibilities in compliance with safety, sanitation, quality and housekeeping rules.

Clean machinery to maintain optimum machine performance. This may include using tools to: scrape, wipe, sweep, squeegee.

Repair substandard packages. This may include relabeling bottles, restacking boxes on pallet.

Loading equipment with packaging supplies. This may include lifting overhead, regularly lifting up to 50 lbs.

Moving and dumping garbage and recycling containers.  This may include lifting up to 100 lbs.

Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), perform tasks per the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and follow general housekeeping guidelines and rules for Food Safety Regulations. Keep area updated with 5S.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of packaging machines to ensure high-quality product output. This role is critical to maintaining production standards and ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate packing machines efficiently, ensuring proper weight, seasoning, sealing, and date coding of finished products.
• Prepare machines for production, make necessary adjustments, and handle roll changes and former swaps.
• Adjust scale programs for optimal product flow, perform metal detector checks, and document findings accurately.
• Monitor and set up seasoning levels to ensure product consistency.
• Perform hand-packing duties, assemble boxes, apply stickers, and inspect packaged goods for quality and accuracy.
• Oversee food safety and quality standards throughout production and packing processes.
• Remove waste, maintain a clean work environment, and handle rework products appropriately.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas, ensuring compliance with cleanliness standards.
• Work collaboratively with the team, providing support during breaks and shift changes.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management to address any issues or malfunctions.
