Welder Job Duties:

• Welding together metal components with arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine bases, parts, plant equipment
• Accurately selects type of welding equipment and consumable rod required to conform with the metal characteristics of the components to be welded.
• Accurately determines material setups, welding positions and the specifications involved.
• Correctly and routinely sets up welding equipment required; clamps materials to be welded to dimensional requirements.
• Typically determines most appropriate gas (with proper regulation) and orifice to obtain proper welds and maximum strength.
• Determines various techniques and procedures appropriate to the types of welding to be performed
• Responsible for performing welding ranging from standard to specialized and involved, using arc or gas methods (or combinations)
• Other duties as assigned
