Job Summary
The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of packaging machines to ensure high-quality product output. This role is critical to maintaining production standards and ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and operational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate packing machines efficiently, ensuring proper weight, seasoning, sealing, and date coding of finished products.
- Prepare machines for production, make necessary adjustments, and handle roll changes and former swaps.
- Adjust scale programs for optimal product flow, perform metal detector checks, and document findings accurately.
- Monitor and set up seasoning levels to ensure product consistency.
- Perform hand-packing duties, assemble boxes, apply stickers, and inspect packaged goods for quality and accuracy.
- Oversee food safety and quality standards throughout production and packing processes.
- Remove waste, maintain a clean work environment, and handle rework products appropriately.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas, ensuring compliance with cleanliness standards.
- Work collaboratively with the team, providing support during breaks and shift changes.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to address any issues or malfunctions.
Physical Requirements
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Standing/Walking: Continuously
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequently, up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing: Frequently, including stairs (up to 15 steps).
- Other Movements: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching frequently.
