Key Responsibilities
- Maintains a perpetual inventory of materials, equipment, supplies, and other general stock items.
- Records purchases, maintains the database, performs a physical count of inventory, reconciles actual stock count to office records, or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory levels.
- Verifies clerical computations against the physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count. Investigates and report reasons for discrepancies.
- Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
- Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods.
- Re-stocks items as necessary.
- Labels shelves.
- Liaises with vendors and purchasing agents and prepares deliveries.
- May perform other routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering telephones, and assisting customers.
- Transport raw materials to production workstations.
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
Qualifications
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Handles complex issues and problems and refers only to the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
- May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
- Typically requires a high school diploma and 4 to 6 years of experience.
