Job Opening: Box Truck Driver- Class B

Transfers materials and items from trailer to dock area or other designated area by hand, hand truck, manual pallet jack, or electric pallet jack Order Processing/Packing on non-delivery days Safely Deliver and Pick-up boxes and pallets in Carol Stream, IL area Driving a transfer truck and or Jockey truck (that may or may not have a manual lift attached) between UA facilities Assists the receiving department when there are no tractor or box truck runs needed Delivering tires and/or supplies with a 26 foot Box Truck to locations throughout the Tri-State Loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory of tires Drives to the delivery destination and physically unloads the truck, verifies parts unloaded, obtains signature of receiving location confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received and signs off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location Picks up buy out purchase orders from vendors on vendor ‘fill in’ purchase orders and deliver parts back to the branch or customer Loading/unloading the truck

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Box Truck Driver with a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to join our team. The driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to designated locations while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a Class B box truck safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip records, and necessary paperwork.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with dispatch and clients.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and company safety regulations.
• Report any mechanical issues or delays to management promptly.

Requirements:

• Valid Class B CDL license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of box truck driving experience (preferred).
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and road safety procedures.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift certification (if applicable).
• Experience handling fragile goods.
• Knowledge of shipping orders and manifests
