Job Opening: Safety Coordinator

Safety Coordinator needed in Bloomington, MN

SHIFTS: 2:00PM – 10:00PM (Monday-Friday)

PAY: $20.00/HR 

• Conduct audits and inspections on a routine basis to identify violations of all levels of safety regulations; including corporate, federal (OSHA), state and local.
• Remedy violations as they are identified by conducting on the spot re-training and issuing disciplinary actions such as suspensions and termination recommendations.
• Responsible for shutting down any production line, if necessary, where safety rule violations are occurring to correct violations; authorizes start-up of production line once corrected.
• Update established Safety Programs related to Federal, State and Local laws, regulations and safety codes as changes to such regulations occur.
• Conduct workplace safety orientation for new employees.
• Prepare contents for and conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Develop and conduct safety training sessions on an annual and as needed basis.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health or similar preferred or equivalent level of education and work experience.
• 2-4 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of Plant Safety regulations.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations. 

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficient skill level in Outlook, Word, Excel, Access.
• Strong English language communication skills.
• Responsibility for ensuring adherence to corporate, federal, state and local safety requirements through audits, inspections, retraining, disciplinary actions, and other related activities.
